The 2026 Musto iQFOiL World Championships concluded on September 12, 2026, in Weymouth and Portland, Great Britain. Tamar Steinberg (Israel) and Luuc van Opzeeland (Netherlands) were crowned World Champions. Both athletes secured a double victory, having also won their respective 2026 European Championships in Portimão earlier in the year.

The six-day windfoiling event at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy hosted 186 athletes representing 41 nations. Competitors navigated diverse wind and chop conditions across Upwind Sprint, Sprint Slalom, and Course Racing formats.

The 2026 Musto iQFOiL World Championships at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy concluded under demanding conditions, with gray skies, strong breezes, and heavy chop framing the high-stakes final day. Throughout the six-day regatta, competitors navigated the full spectrum of iQFOiL racing environments, shifting seamlessly between light, unstable breezes that triggered frequent recalls during Sprint Slalom and heavy westerly gales during Course Racing.

Facing home-water expectations at the London 2012 Olympic venue, defending 2025 World Champions Emma Wilson and Andy Brown were unable to hold off a fiercely competitive international fleet, while host nation Great Britain saw its best result come from Islay Watson, who finished ninth overall in the Women’s fleet after a fourth-place finish in her Quarter-Final heat.

The Medal Series brought intense drama and tight finishes across both divisions. In the Men’s Semi-Final, a procedural starting error forced an abrupt race abortion and re-sail, which derailed the momentum of key contenders, eliminating 2024 Olympic Champion Tom Reuveny, RS:X Olympic Champion Kiran Badloe, and Federico Alan Pilloni prior to the Grand Final.

The Men’s Grand Final featured an equally tense battle for the final podium spot, where Denmark’s Johan Søe edged out Nicolas Goyard on the final reach to steal bronze by a fraction of a meter. Meanwhile, the Women’s Grand Final saw Sharon Kantor take an early lead around the first mark before Tamar Steinberg generated relentless power through the reach, executing a decisive late pass to secure the race victory and wrap up the title.
