Once the proud capital of the Republic of Ragusa, a maritime power and symbol of diplomacy and freedom, Dubrovnik is a city where history meets innovation. Now, with the arrival of E1, Croatia is writing a new chapter in its rich history, becoming the home of electric marine hydrofoiling racing.
The UIM E1 World Championship is set to bring its electrifying foiling speed boat races to Dubrovnik, Croatia, in June 2025. This event, the E1 Dubrovnik GP 2025, presented by Adriatic Luxury Hotels, marks a significant addition to the championship’s calendar, placing Dubrovnik alongside other prestigious coastal locations.
The races, scheduled for June 13th and 14th, will feature nine teams competing in cutting-edge, all-electric RaceBird boats. The backdrop for this thrilling competition will be Dubrovnik’s stunning medieval architecture and UNESCO World Heritage site, with the race track situated between the historic Old City and Lokrum Island.
The E1 series mandates each team to field both a male and female pilot, emphasizing gender inclusivity within the sport. Beyond the competition, teams are committed to engaging with local communities, promoting initiatives aimed at ocean and aquatic ecosystem regeneration.
The race weekend in Dubrovnik will unfold over two days: June 13th will feature testing, free practice, and qualifying sessions, while June 14th will host the play-off races, elimination rounds, and the final race. Spectators can enjoy prime viewing from Dubrovnik’s historic city walls, overlooking the racecourse situated between the Old City and Lokrum Island. With the countdown underway, Dubrovnik eagerly anticipates hosting a highlight event of the 2025 E1 season.
This event is expected to draw global attention, highlighting both the excitement of electric racing and the beauty of Dubrovnik.
