From May 23th to June 1st, 2025, Gruissan, France and Les Chalets beach will be once again host to the biggest wind water sports event bringing together professionals and amateurs from across the globe. Created in 2001, the Wind Challenge has grown rapidly in popularity, attracting increasing numbers of participants every year.
Défi Wind (windurfing), Kite (kitesurfing) and Wing (wingfoil) are three separate competitions, where both traditional rigs and foiling equipment is used in a marathon-like course testing endurance and skill. The event attracts thousands of participants from around the world with 23 editions, 250 organizers, 50 countries, 30.000 visitors, and 50 exhibitors.
This extraordinary race is a showcase of intense athletic performance, spanning one of the longest distances in competition. Enthusiasts from all corners of the globe come together at the same place and time to share their passion. After the thrilling on-water spectacle, the event continues on land, where attendees can explore numerous exhibitor stands and enjoy evening concerts. Defi Wind, the Experience– a unique blend of passion, competition, and camaraderie.
Besides the water sports event Défi Wind week also delivers a legendary atmosphere and a celebration of wind sports culture. From On-water racing from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily to Exhibitor stands showcasing the latest traditional and hydrofoiling equipment, and awesome evening concerts and parties with a festive atmosphere.
