If you are looking for a foiling spot in Ottawa, Ontario Britannia Beach has been the home for local windsurfers and kite surfers, and hydrofoiling water sports enthusiasts joined the ranks. Located on the Ottawa River at Britannia Bay, the beach is great for swimming, picnics or just watching the sailboats go by on a beautiful summer day. Key amenities include washrooms, change rooms and outdoor showers; free parking; a canteen; picnic tables and barbecue pits; and play structures and fields. Lifeguards are on duty daily between noon and 7 pm during the summer season.
The Cityβs beaches Mooneyβs Bay, Britannia and Petrie Island will be open for supervised swimming from noon to 7 pm starting June 15 until August 25, 2024, inclusively. Washrooms will be open for the season starting May 18 until September 2, 2024 inclusively.

Beach-accessible wheelchairs
Beach-accessible wheelchairs are available at no cost at Mooneyβs Bay Beach, Britannia Beach and Petrie Island Beach.
Users are required to provide their own attendant to push the chair and assist with the transfer in and out of the chair. There is no lift on site.
