Formula Kite, a new foiling event to be held this summer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will be showcased in Kingston this weekend, July 5-7, during the Sail Canada 2024 Formula Kite Senior Championships.

Sail Canada 2024 Formula Kite Senior Championships will be hosted by CORK/Sail Kingston and held along with 2024 FOILKingston to includes hydrofoiling competition in the WASZP, WindFoil and Formula Kite. Competitors from the U.S.A. and Caribbean nations will also take part in this event. Participants in Formula Kite competition can get points for the World Sailing rankings (50 points).

Amongst the Canadian athletes in action, Sail Canada Development Squad member Mac Morrin from Kingston will be at the starting line.

Races for Sail Canada 2024 Formula Kite Senior Championships will be held according to the following schedule:

  • Friday, July 5: races are scheduled to start at 12pm
  • Saturday, July 6: races are scheduled to start at 11 am
  • Sunday, July 7: races are scheduled to start at 11 am

Sail Canada 2024 Formula Kite Senior Championships event is part of a series of seven Sail Canada National and Regional Championships to be held this summer. These competitions provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region, in addition to serving as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, as development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, as well as training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers.
