Kingston Yacht Club is partnering with WeCANFoil to organize programs that will allow sailors to experience foiling at a relatively low cost, try the sport out, and develop their skills.
WeCANFoil, winner of the best foiling pathway program, is an arm of SailGP Canada that promotes and provides opportunities for sailors to try the exciting sport of foil sailing. This season, Kingston Yacht Club is offering three different programs for both youth and adults. These programs will allow sailors to experience foiling at a relatively low cost, try the sport out, and develop their skills.
Programs are taught on the WASZP (the most popular one design foiling dinghy), and Wingfoils (the newest foiling boards). Coaching is available for all program options, and state of the art coaching techniques and equipment allow for direct on-water communication and video debriefs to track your progress.
Foiling Juniors
Come for five days and go fast! Progressing from take off, to sustaining foiling, to foiling maneuvers, youβre going to love this! If you can sail a planing dinghy (Laser/420/29er) you will be lifting onto the foils in no time. Become part of the fastest growing one design fleet in Canada! You will also have the opportunity to learn to Wingfoil!

Requirements: Foilers must be ages 12 – 18

Occasional Foiler
This is a 2 hour session with a coach aimed at getting a feel for foiling and working on lift and sustained foiling. Hooked after trying it? You can upgrade to a Season Foiling Membership and apply your Occasional Foiler sessions!
Ages 12+
This membership offers 40 hours of foiling coaching and access to the WeCANFoil WASZPs and Wingfoils. Coaching for new foilers includes learning to rig, launch, foil, return to the dock, and derig. Certified sailors can transition to an independent foiler and will have unlimited access to the WeCANFoil WASZPs and Wingfoils with access to a coach or support boat as needed.
